Special care and attention needs to be given to alloy wheels, not just for the aesthetics, but more importantly, it helps to prolong the life of the tyres. If not treated properly with proper alloy wheel cleaner, they are prone to galvanic corrosion, which, in turn, can cause tyre pressure to leak, ultimately compromising performance and safety.

Your wheels undergo a constant barrage of wear and tear - chemicals, dirt and grime, road salt and moisture from the road, iron contamination from constant braking, mistakenly using an unsuitable wheel cleaner that inadvertently contributes to corrosion, and UV light - while the alloys are the best option to protect your tyres from all this, regular maintenance is necessary to minimise damage.

Frogchem - The Best Alloy Wheel Cleaner

Frogchem offers an acid and non-acid alloy wheel cleaner range designed to protect alloys and wheels against corrosion specifically.

Acid Cleaner for Wheels

Frogchem’s acid cleaner for wheels combines hydrochloric acid with another specialist detergent to give an aggressive and thorough removal of brake fluid, dust, road grime and other corrosive contaminants that can build up over time.

Non-Acid Wheel Cleaner

For a less aggressive, though by no means less effective, alloy wheel cleaner, Frogchem’s range of acid-free wheel cleaners can be diluted and applied to the alloys to eliminate any build-up of road pollution and grime.

How to Achieve the Best Wheel Shine

1. Choose which is the best cleaner for wheels - acid or non-acid. If you are unsure in any way, please do not hesitate to contact our Frogchem sales team, who will be able to advise you best.

2. Dilute the wheel cleaner chemical according to the instructions and liberally apply it to the wheel using a wheel cleaner spray.

3. Leave for a minute or so to allow the cleaning agent to soak into the dirt, oil, and grime.

4. Use a wheel bush to break down the grime that has built up, making sure you get into all the spokes and hidden crevices of the wheel.

5. Don’t forget to clean the tyres as well.

6. Rinse the tires and alloys with a high-pressure water spray, removing all the alloy wheel cleaners, resulting in a wheel that is sparkling inside and out.
